We Laughed So Hard
It’s kind of like a cross between the card game “War” and “Rock, Paper, Scissors.” The real fun is in trying to guess how your opponent (or opponents) will strategize their moves, so you can decide which move to make yourself. Will you go on the defensive and try to match their move so they won’t win the hand and add monsters to their party? Or will you make the riskier moves and try to outsmart everyone else? A round goes quickly, so you can pull it out when you have just a few minutes to kill, or you can play multiple rounds. My husband and I played it together, just the two of us, and by the time we were halfway through the round, we were laughing so hard about the way we kept matching our answers that my cheeks hurt from smiling! As always, the amount of fun you’ll have in playing the game kind of depends on who you’re playing with, but with the right person (or group), this game could go on for hours, with round after round of laughs!
Such a fun game to play with the kids and off the electronics.
We had a great time playing this game, and it kept the kids attention long enough to keep them off their screens for a few hours. And wanted to play over and over again. It reminded me a lot of the card game of war. You collect the winning cards in your stack and play until there are no cards left. It took a game or two to really understand how to play, but once you get the hang of it, it is really fun. It says 8 years +, my 7 year old played just fine.
Really fun…
Our family has a lot of young grandchildren. This is a great game for kids. The pace is fast and non-stop. The rules are simple. There’s enough variety with the “party pig” and “delivery boy” characters as wild cards to lend excitement beyond the cancelling-out main action. Cards are fun with cute outlandish characters. Very much liked.

What Makes it fun: Monster Fest is all about understanding what your opponent is thinking. If you can get inside their head and predict their plays, then you can block them turn after turn. Remember, they are trying to predict what you are thinking too. That is where the fun is!
